Anita Sun Pacylowski is a native of Columbia, MD and received her training at the Washington School of Ballet in Washington, D.C. While training there, she received scholarships to a number of summer programs, including the San Francisco Ballet, School of American Ballet in New York City, and the Joffrey Ballet Workshop on San Antonio, TX.

In 1989 she was the recipient of the Princess Grace Award in Dance, the Nancy Reagan Award in Dance and became a Presidential Scholar in the Arts. Graduation from the Washington School was immediately followed by joining the company where she became principal dancer for five years. She has performed for President and First Lady Bill Clinton at the White House, and for Princess Stephanie of Monaco at the Kennedy Center.

For over ten years she has spent summers with the Chautauqua Ballet Company as one of its original members. Chautauqua introduced her to the late Salvatore Aiello who brought her to the North Carolina Dance Theater. She remained there for seven years before join CBT as principal dancer in 2001.

Pacylowski's dancing has been critically acclaimed in the New York Times, Washington Post, and others. Dance Magazine has named her one of the top 25 to watch.
